Recently, Studio HER moved into building 003 A at the Marineterrein in Amsterdam.

Studio HER is an entirely female and non-binary production house and creative collective focused on film, video and photography. The aim is equal representation behind the scenes - and in front of the lens.

As a production house, Studio HER develops full-fledged campaigns from concept to post-production with an entirely female/non-binary production crew. In addition, individual makers can be deployed in third-party productions. Studio HER will start producing its own campaigns this year, with the aim of contributing to a better world within the following themes: diversity and gender equality, climate and sustainability, and art and culture.

Studio HER consists of 25 makers who all have a unique signature and specialisation. Besides that, Studio HER is building a global community of more than 300 creatives, who strengthen each other by working together and sharing knowledge through workshops and events.

Founder Leandra Arjona-Jacobi: “Diverse perspectives are essential when creating images and stories, because we are strongly influenced and shaped by our media. By making conscious choices here, we ensure more openness, curiosity and a broader field of knowledge for everyone. And while we follow our mission, we also want to make cool things and enter into great collaborations. Because we make an impact together.”

Bureau Marineterrein was already introduced to Studio HER in 2023, during the production of five short videos about the Marineterrein. The voice-over in the videos is by our regular storyteller Chiquita Odjo-Seymonson.

With its activities, Studio HER contributes to the mission of the Marineterrein to use the test area, and the entire collective, for social issues. Continuously learning and wanting to innovate an industry also fits well within the program and ambition of the Marineterrein.

We both look forward to a great collaboration.
