ANNE-SARAH
DIJKHORST

This work is here to remember all women of their power. The power of nature as our religion and the wisdom that lays deep within our cells. We are the creators of life and that just says it all. What would it look like if this world was a thriving matriarchy? Would mother nature blossom? Would we live in harmony? Would there be enough for everyone? What will happen if we all remember our true power?

Changing the narrative of womanhood. Celebrating rites of passage, cycles, pregnancy, birth, imperfections and growing older as an enrichment in life.

This work was created by Anne Sarah Dijkhorst (photographer and art) and Milva Willemsen (movement and art).

DANCE TO EARTH

Experimental dance film on the interconnectedness between the human body and the natural world. Are we slowly loosing touch with our animal bodies? With this visual poem I wanted to explore how we can connect with our physical self. Music and dance can act as tools to break free from a more rational reality. To come back to a state of being that appears to have been left behind in our daily lives, yet one that we crave in order to feel truly alive.

I am fascinated by the current technological developments, but I think we need to understand true embodiment before we explore what is beyond. Right now it is more important than ever to stay grounded and realise how we are part of a physical world, a natural world. Film is an interesting medium to explore the body with, as it bridges the physical and digital.

BOLLYWOOD IN AMSTERDAM WEST

When Jitske met Juanita Koerts (35) while studying at the Amsterdam Fashion Institute, she was captivated by her vibrant style and playful energy. Invited to Juanita's birthday celebration in Amsterdam West, Jitske stepped into a world reminiscent of India. Juanita had transformed her modest apartment into a kaleidoscope colors and patterns. Inspired by Juanita's artistry, Jitske decided to document Juanita in her beautiful space.

Juanita, with Indonesian heritage, fell in love with Bollywood movies during a visit to her family in Indonesia as child. While studying fashion and design at AMFI, she found herself increasingly inspired by the aesthetics of Bollywood, prompting her to venture into Bollywood dancing. Juanita discovered her natural talent and now teaches this expressive art form to both children and adults.

Another profound inspiration in Juanita's life is the renowned artist Frida Kahlo. Juanita sees Frida as a living work of art and aspires to embody that same spirit within herself. Just like Frida, Juanita recognizes the transformative power of clothing. She uses fashion as a means to uplift herself and those around her, creating an atmosphere of positivity and self-expression. By embracing both Bollywood and Frida Kahlo's influence, Juanita has become a living tapestry of vibrant artistry and cultural fusion.

Leanne

LEANNE
VINK

Tirza

TIRZA
LEMPERS

IN SEARCH OF HUMANNESS

To be human is to be part of this community called human beings. We tend to forget that. Tirza wants to remind us that separation is a falsehood, and inclusivity is not something to search for, it is inherently present, it’s at the core of our being.

The conversations Tirza (30) had with her subjects and the energy that was exchanged affirmed this, time and time again. They came from all kinds of backgrounds, some were strangers she bumped into, some were familiar.

They were the ones Tirza was drawn to, amidst the isolating period of the pandemic. In search of humanness, she took to the streets with her analog camera. She used her tool to connect with her subjects. Unconsciously she was trying to restore her hope in humanity, in people as co-dependent, caring beings that hold the fabric of this world together.

Reflecting on those encounters, she started to unveil what was underneath: the collective need of all of us to be heard and seen. By eachother. That’s what makes us human and that is precisely what Tirza hopes to stir in the viewer.

YVETTE
DE WIT

I love to create photo series with a team and host multiple expositions and events at my church. Photography has brought me to amazing places over the world and allowed me to meet many interesting people and explore their world which in exchange made my own world broaden. From shooting for Nescafé in Berlin to sailing and shooting across the Mediterranean for the Yachtweek. Shooting real-estate in Bali and California to shooting for Ikea in Singapore. I love to capture emotion or message through a photo and capturing sceneraries in a different, spontaneous way.
